Ride Now for Autism
July 9 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm
1 in 59 children is diagnosed with autism; making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. With these statistics it seems than almost everyone will know a child with Autism.
Being this our 14th year, we really wanted to be sure that the money donated stays in this area, therefore we will be donating the proceeds from this year’s run to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh. Here are just a few things that the Autism Society of Pittsburgh does for this region, Co-Founded by Myron Cope 50 years ago, provides information and referral to parents and professionals about diagnosis, care, treatment, educational, medical and habilitative services, advise facilities and/or professionals who are unfamiliar with autism. The Autism Society also puts families in touch with other professionals whom are able to supplement their effort. Co-founded, in 2000, the SPECTRUM CHARTER SCHOOL, providing community based school-to-work education and training for students ages 12-21, including those with autism spectrum disorders. S.P.E.A.K. founded in 1974, specialized summer program of education and community awareness building to prevent academic and social regression in children with autism spectrum disorders during summer months.
On Saturday, July 9, 2022 we will be holding the 14th Annual “Ride Now for Autism” Motorcycle Run. We will start this ride at the Wicked Witches Bar and Grille, take the riders on a nice ride and then back to the Wicked Witches Bar and Grille for an after party consisting of buffet dinner, Chinese auction drawing, live music and other prizes.
Would you be willing to help with a donation to our cause? We will accept monetary donations or any items for our Chinese Auction? Your donation is tax deductible and would be so helpful to us as we do all the we can to raise the funding for this amazing cause. As the old saying goes “It takes a village to raise a child” we are committed to help give the children everything that they need to be successful in life.
